Dob, Stefan and Alex first met at HP, where they worked together in the early 2000s. In 2016, they co-founded HeleCloud, a company they founded in 2016 and successfully sold in 2021. Today, they are investors and advisors to startups and family offices.
Stefan is a seasoned entrepreneur with a proven track record of building and scaling successful businesses. As co-founder of HeleCloud, he played a crucial role in transforming the company into one of Europe’s leading AWS consulting firms, ultimately leading to its acquisition. Before that, he founded Sofica, a BPO firm that expanded rapidly to 1200 employees before being acquired by a NASDAQ-listed company. After the acquisition, Stefan stayed with the company and drove additional 40% revenue growth over a two-year period. Stefan is based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Alex’s career has been built on financial expertise, strategic M&A, and business transformation. As the CFO of HeleCloud, he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial strategy and positioning it for acquisition. Prior to that, he was COO of Chaos Group, a company that revolutionized the film industry with its award-winning rendering technology. With experience at Warburg Pincus-backed Eurocom and KPMG, Alex is an expert in driving growth through financial excellence. Alex lives in Barcelona.
With a career spanning leading tech firms and groundbreaking startups, Dob brings unparalleled insight into technology-driven businesses. His journey includes executive roles at Amazon, Visa Europe, Accenture, and others. As the former CTO at AWS EMEA, he was instrumental in expanding the company’s European public sector footprint. Dob was a co-founder of HeleCloud, its Co-CEO and Chief Cloud Officer. Today, Dob is an active investor and board member in 17 tech startups, and advisor to businesses, university accelerators, and family offices. Dob splits his time between London and his house near Innsbruck in Austria.
Emilian’s expertise lies in private equity, corporate finance, and special situations. Having started his career in business development in financial services, he has spent over two decades structuring deals, arranging growth funding, and executing strategic exits in mid-market segment. His deep understanding of investment dynamics allows him to craft winning strategies that maximize value for both investors and entrepreneurs. Emilian is based in Oslo, Norway

HelleGrowth Capital (HGC) is raising a €50m fund to capitalise on technological and digital disruption opportunities across all economic sectors.
The HGC team consists of experienced entrepreneurs, tech executives, and investment professionals. The core team includes Stefan Bumov, Dob Todorov, and Alex Kolev. Our collaboration began in the early 2000s, when were were working for Hewlett Packard Bulgaria. There, we were part of the team that build HP’s services division to some 4 000 employees, still the largest BPO/ITO operation in Bulgaria. In 2011 Stefan co-founded Sofica, a BPO firm, which he later sold to a US multinational, in a multimillion-dollar deal.
In 2016 we co-founded established HeleCloud, which became one of the only three independent Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premier Consulting Partners in EMEA. HeleCloud operated from offices in London, the Hague, and an engineering centre in Sofia, Bulgaria. After raising £3.0m from British Growth Fund, HeleCloud experienced rapid organic growth and made several strategic acquisitions in Bulgaria and the Netherlands. In 2021, the company was acquired by a Swiss group, generating a 49% IRR and a 3x cash-on-cash return for its VC investor.
Currently Stefan, Dob and Alex act as business angles, board members and advisors, in the UK, DACH, and Bulgaria. We established HGC as we see significant investment opportunities in the European technology solutions sector, and are looking to replicate the success of HeleCloud,Sofica, and our investment and management experience. HGC strategy is to back promising teams while leveraging its market access and scaling expertise to boost the growth of the investees in its portfolio.HGC has approached the European Investment Fund (EIF) to be an anchor investor with €30m in the Fund, and looks to raise additional €20m from private investors.
